Currently as much as there is so much success in the Lions Gate Film fraternity, we face a lot risks doing business internationally, the risks we face could include
  • We face risks from doing business internationally.

    From our distribution of films and motion pictures outside Canada and the United States, our business is subject to certain risks inherent in international business, most of which are beyond our control.

    These risks could be
  • changes in local regulatory requirements, which may include restrictions on content;


  • changes in the laws and policies affecting trade, investment and taxes,
    including laws and policies relating to the repatriation of funds and to
    withholding taxes;


  • differing degrees of protection for intellectual property;


  • instability of foreign economies and governments;


  • cultural barriers;


  • wars and acts of terrorism; and


  • the spread of communicable diseases.



  • Any of these factors could affect our business profoundly.


    On the other hand our rights to the titles in our film and television vary, in some cases we have only the right to distribute titles in certain media and
    territories for a limited term.

    Once these rights expire, we cannot be guaranteed a renewal of the same.
